Meet Becky Wade

Have you ever met a celebrity? I don’t mean catching a glimpse of them on the airport. I mean, have you had a chance to meet a real celebrity, and talk to them?

I not only got to meet a celebrity, but I was privileged to have lunch with her.

Beckywadeandme

Meet Becky Wade. She is funny. She is a beautiful person. She is super sweet. And, she is a famous author.

Authors are my kind of celebrity. You can have Beiber, Efron and Lawrence. I’ll take Kingsbury, Wade, and Pettrey any day. (And Ganshert. Oh and Rivers. Don’t forget Henderson. And…)

Becky Wade just so happens to have a new book out.

(Keep Reading for an awesome giveaway!)

Those of you, who are thinking, “New book, I didn’t even know she had old books.” Well, you are in luck, she has written two other novels in this genre. Both are equally fantastic.

With two littles, I have a hard time finding the time to read. So I usually read while they nap and I work out on the elliptical. When I read Becky’s books, I get a much longer workout and my children are standing awake at the gate of their room wondering when I will come get them!

Okay, so if I haven’t convinced you yet that Becky is an awesome author, check out the reviews on Amazon and see what other people are saying.

Or just trust me and buy the books!

Then again, if you are feeling lucky, you could enter this giveaway. Becky is giving away a copy of Meant to be Mine. An autographed copy, nonetheless. To make it even more special, I’m going to just make it a gift package. One lucky reader will win the book by Becky, an adorable mug AND some fun tea and cocoa. Cause, let’s be real; once you start this book, you are just going to want to mug down and read it without stopping. So, you might as well stay hydrated.

Agreed, and that really is the best kind of author! The kind that “hooks” you!

    • Beauty for ashes says:

Me neither. Would you believe, I haven’t read it yet? But I will be, very soon!

    • Beauty for ashes says:

Amber, seriously, pick up a copy at your library or bookstore for some fun summer reading. You won’t regret it! 🙂

Thanks for offering this giveaway for Meant to Be Mine, Becky! It was wonderful to get to know you over lunch. (And that amazing salad was a very nice perk). 🙂 Best wishes with the giveaway, everyone!

  3. Marilyn Weimer Johnson says:

Would love to ready this book. I follow you on Facebook and you seam like a fun easy going kind of person.

    • Beauty for ashes says:

Oh, you sound like a woman who has a lot of experience! Have you met many celebs?

  4. Jaime Huff says:

I’ve been blessed to meet a few celebs (let me tell ya, Bret Michaels is a really cool guy and a total class act- believe it or not! He does so much around Phoenix and same with Alice Cooper) here in Phoenix but I am awaiting the chance to meet some of my favorite authors. I am such a book geek! Looks like you had fun!

      • Jaime Huff says:

I would LOVE to meet Michelle Moran (wrote Nefertiti). We have chatted many times over email and she is so sweet to work with and would love to meet her face to face.

There are quite a few, actually- LOL, Brandon Sanderson, George RR Martin (I might fangirl way too hard, though, haha), Philippa Gregory, Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs… um… I think I will end it there! LOL

        • Beauty for ashes says:

I’ve never heard of Michelle Moran, I might need to check her out. What kind of books do you enjoy reading? I haven’t heard of those authors, so I’m curious about new books!

          • Jaime Huff says:

I adore Michelle Moran’s books. I am across the board, really. I like Austen, Goergette Heyer, Bronte sisters. then I also like fantasy books (i.e., the authors except for Philippa Gregory are fantasy authors) but I also like historical fiction (Philippa writes historical fiction! The Other Boleyn Girl is hers.).

What about you? What is your favorite genre?

          • Beauty for ashes says:

I love Austen, I’m not hugely into fantasy. Although, I think I need to reread the LOTR trilogy to get reacquainted with it. I love any sort of Christian fiction; suspense, historical, contemporary. I am not a huge fan of Amish fiction though, I get kinda lost..

  5. Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says:

I don’t think I’ve ever met (meaning talked to) a celebrity, but I’ve spotted them many times through the years. So cool you met an author you love.

    • Beauty for ashes says:

See, you are one up from me, I don’t even think I have ever spotted one other than this time!

  6. Kung Phoo says:

I have shuck hands and spoke to Mariano Rivera before he went on to be a super star.. he is my kind of celeb!

    • Beauty for ashes says:

My favorite celebs are the ones who are down to earth, real people. (aka..not Beiber)

  7. Elizabeth says:

I haven’t read any of her books before, but Undeniably Yours looks good to me! I always start with the first in the series when I can. 🙂

  8. rm29303 says:

  10. Rebecca Swenor says:

I have only met the local news people. Glad for you to have had lunch with Becky Wade. Ty for sharing.

    • Beauty for ashes says:

I haven’t even met the local news people. I was in the newspaper one time, but that was a disaster!

  11. Alyssa Faith says:

I can’t pick between the three! I’ve been wanting to read Becky’s books forever now.

    • Beauty for ashes says:

Oh Alyssa, go do it! Put them on hold at your local library and just read them, you will get so caught up in the characters!

  12. Grace Postorino says:

I have read “My Stubborn Heart”, and look forward to reading “Undeniably Yours” and “Meant to be Mine” as soon as I can!

  13. Melissa says:

(My first comment disappeared. I hope I’m not posting twice) I think my favorite book is the one I am reading at the time. I loved all of Becky’s books, but I will choose Meant to Be Mine because I loved the forgiveness theme and how it took time to develop. Well, and Ty…..

    • Beauty for ashes says:

Oh Melissa, I am jealous that you have already read Meant to be Mine, I can’t wait to read it! I have heard that Ty is pretty…special! 🙂

  14. Beth says:

I’ve read Undeniably Yours, and I loved it! Can’t wait to read the other two! And so cool that you got to meet Becky Wade!

  15. dianna1 says:

I too read the Undeniably Yours last summer– what an awesome book– the twisted and turns, just kept you flipping the pages, I would love to read anything else that she has written– because that one sang to my heart for the adventure. How lucky for you to get to met her.

    • Beauty for ashes says:

Then I totally encourage you to check out her other books, also, if you like adventure…you might think about checking out Dani Pettrey. She writes Christian adventure novels!
