If we were to sit down together at a coffee shop, I would probably get a cold ice tea. That isn’t new or unusual, especially if we have had a coffee date before.
You might notice I look tired and ask me about it. I would tell you that I am so tired. However, it is a good tired. It’s like that feeling you get after a really good workout. Or after a day’s work of helping at the homeless shelter, or on a mission trip. It’s a tired feeling, but I am so grateful for it.
I’m tired because I have been awake at 3:00 AM with my little boy.
I’m tired because I have been striving to figure out how I can better love my husband.
I’m tired because it has been only recently that I realized I have been trying to do everything in my own strength rather than surrendering to God.
I’m tired because I’m the one cleaning up poo, baby powder, and other toddler delicacies.
I’m tired because I have been living life well.
I might turn the tables on you, so to speak, and ask how you’ve been doing. What would I say to you? Do you look tired? Excited? Curious? Tell me about you!
