Weekly Meal Plan

It took me long enough.

I guess I’m a gal that just has to learn the hard way.

I was spending quite a bit of time each week coming up with meals. I would have a few weeks of amazing dinners and then I would come up short with ideas. Then, a few weeks later, I would get a burst of inspiration and make some more new and amazing dinners.

Frankly, it was exhausting.

Ideas to help you plan your meals in less time!

Meal planning doesn’t have to be hard. Now, that I’ve developed a plan, I have found that it is really quite simple.

My weekly meal plan is only five days. That works for my family since my husband is at work the other two meal times. Also, I know many families can just eat leftovers, or go out to eat at least that many times.

Weekly Meal Plan

Monday: Pizza or Pasta (I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to this, if you want to gather some ideas)

Tuesday: Rice Dish – this can be anything from stir fry to a rice casserole. I have a few things listed, but I am planning on gathering more ideas for my pinterest board. (In case you can’t tell yet, I do most of my meal planning via Pinterest!)

Wednesday: Mexican Foodtacosalad1

This is so versatile. I can make a taco salad one night and then enchiladas another.

Thursday: Crockpot – Anything in my slow cooker. Could be soup or even a whole meal!

Friday: Meat Meal – To save money and test our theory about the health benefits of more vegetarian meals, we have not been eating as much meat. This is my meal to eat a big slab of meat.     Good for you for getting started! Now, just keep up with it. I started meal planning back in October, but I got derailed the week of Christmas. I am still working out the kinks of doing this around shift work. My big grocery day was always Sat…and then I got dinged working 3 weekends out of 4 in Dec/Jan…so I need to learn to adapt. It’s a work in progress, but you are right, it makes it SO much easier when we plan in advance.
