Christmas Scripture Meditation

The Christmas tree is still not put up in our home.

I have lofty plans to make all kinds of Christmas treats this year (like these amazing cookies from last year, oh yum!).

Today starts our advent with our little ones.

There are gifts to wrap and fun projects every day.

In all this hullabaloo, it is easy to forget the reason we are celebrating.

Christmas Advent Scripture verses. This is a great way to stay focused on the real reason for the season this year!

This season isn’t about trees, stockings or carols. It is about a manger.

It isn’t about giving gifts. It’s about receiving the greatest gift of all.

I am challenging myself to be more intentional this year about focusing on the Messiah in a manger through daily Christmas Scripture meditation.

Each day, I am going to be reading through a passage of Scripture. Every day that I can, I plan to do this with my husband, too.

It will take five minutes or less to read it through and meditate on the truth of the Scripture. My prayer during this season is that I will come to know and be filled with wonder at the truth of our Messiah in the manger.

Some of these verses directly relate to the Christmas story of Jesus as a baby, others are in the Old Testament and are prophetic about His coming.

Look for new things in the text that you have never read before.

May you be filled with the same awe and wonder in this time. Won’t you commit to reading and thinking about these Scriptures each day leading up to Christmas?

This Scripture challenge is so great for Advent this year. It will only take a few minutes each day, but will transform this season for me!
