24 weeks pregnant. This is my second update. I meant to do more, but it just…hasn’t happened. We do however, have big news to share with you. Are you ready to find out the gender of our little babe?
With our first baby, we didn’t find out the gender until she was born. The doctor held her up by her little legs and said, “Look what gender it is!” I had just gone through a tedious labor, she was covered in gunk and upside down. I had no idea what gender she was. The doctor exasperatedly said, “It’s a girl!”
With our second baby, I wanted to find out because I figured it might be a boy. I knew that if it was a boy, it would be more economical for us to buy boy clothes over a nine month period of time, rather than all at once after he was born. It was a precious boy, Benjamin.
We were not planning on finding out with Levi, but with everything that happened and all his health issues, it became pretty obvious that we were looking at a boy on the sono screen. It was our second little bundle of boy activity, Levi.
This time, I went to the sono by myself. When she asked if I wanted to know the gender, I told her I was still unsure. Greg wanted it to be a surprise. I kinda wanted to know. So she didn’t do anything to hide it, nor did she tell me. It was obvious.
We are having another little man!
Stephen Alexander will be here by the start of next year’s school year.
All the teachers are like, “SLOW down summer!”
This pregnant mama is like, “HURRY up summer!”
24 Weeks Pregnant
How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I haven’t been on the scale at all this pregnancy. How different that is from the last three. I guess I just don’t have time to worry about it. I know how much I usually gain with each babe, so I’m not too concerned.
Maternity clothes? I was so blessed to have some maternity clothes given to me, that actually fit me! I can see now why some women are so excited to dress the bump, you don’t have to look frumpy for nine months!
Sleep: Greg got me a fit-bit for my birthday. It tells me how much sleep I got. I was so confused as to why I was exhausted all the time, when I might get a full eight hours of sleep a night. The fit bit doesn’t only tell you how long you slept, but it tells you how much you were awake. I am awake and fitful around an hour each night. I know that number is only going to grow until baby comes.
Best moment this week: Going to Red Robin with my crew. I am so proud of them and their behavior, which I can only attribute to God. They are really amazing kiddos (with lots of flaws, too). We try to go eat out at odd times when the restaurant is fairly empty. We went around 2 in the afternoon. The waitress was amazing. The food was delish and our kiddos were so polite. It was a delightful experience.
Miss Anything? Running. I could probably run now, but I already feel as if this baby is about to fall out of me. So…I’m just gonna wait until after he comes.
Movement: Our little man is VERY low. So, I don’t feel his movement as much as the others, but I still feel him dancing around in there.
Food cravings: Sweets. I hate this part of pregnancy. I want anything and everything I can get that is REALLY bad for me.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada
Gender: Our littlest man, Stephen Alexander
Labor Signs: None. I’m surprised, too. I thought with my other ones I was having Braxton Hicks by now. Not that I’m complaining. I am enjoying a calm belly.
Belly Button in or out? In
Happy or Moody most of the time: I am happy, but tired. I know by the end of the third trimester, I am going to be a puddle of exhaustion.
Looking forward to: Moving. If anyone has a home for sale in the country, in Texas…let me know. Cause, this process is just so tedious! Glad I have this amazing man by my side.
And in case you are wondering, here is what life was like when I was 25 weeks pregnant with Levi:
