“Life ain’t always beautiful.
Sometimes, it’s just plain hard.
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart.
Life ain’t always beautiful, but it’s a beautiful ride.”
This song is about the last few weeks in our little home. There has been some heartache and hardship. Greg’s mom was diagnosed with cancer and ended up in the hospital days later to get it removed. It was not successful. She is now preparing for other options.
The same day we found out about Greg’s mom, my grandpa passed away.
In the midst of this, is the grief over a lost relationship with loved ones.
However, there is light in the midst of darkness. Through this time, God has blessed us abundantly with little miracles and great support.
We have spent more time with extended family and had some incredible conversations. We have been blessed with the love and support of those around us. I am so grateful for surrogate mamas who pour out their love, support and wisdom. I have been astounded by the grace and mercy of some of the women in my life and have been challenged by their example. May I grow to be more like them, and therefore, more like Christ.
God is sovereign in the joyful times. He is sovereign in the hard times. We will trust in Him, through it all.
I’m grateful for these moments, as well, that bring smiles to our faces.
