I’m not sure how this didn’t get published until now. Maybe it had something to do with being nine months pregnant.
Better late than never, I suppose!
Here is Gracie’s July recap!
July is hot.
I learned that July is summertime, which means it’s hot.
It also is my favorite month of the year, since it has my most favorite day: my birthday!
In July, I turned four years old. Although, in my mind, I have been four every since December. Don’t get me wrong, three was fine for a time, but that is the age of little girls. I am a big girl, now.
I even told mommy that I already knew how to drive a car, because I am four! She said something about a license and having to reach the pedals, but she just doesn’t understand. Speaking of Mommy, something weird happened when I turned four. It turns out when my four year old birthday came around, I also gained a wealth of knowledge. I actually know everything, now. It’s amazing. Being four is serious business!
For my fourth birthday party, I invited all the special people in my life. I told mommy I wanted to paint at my party, and so we did. We painted and ate cupcakes and even played outside. It was so much fun; there were even balloons!
We also went on vacation with Amaw. Leslie was there and we played all week long. She is one of my favorite people. Uncle David took us out on his boat, which was so much fun, but I was a little scared. Daddy and Mommy made me go out on the tube, that was NOT fun. There was water splashing my face almost the entire time. How is that fun?
On vacation, I worked on riding my bicycle and got really good at using the pedals. Now, all I have to do is learn how to stay up and balance on the bike. That’s the hardest part.
Daddy and I went to the dentist, which is probably one of my favorite things to do. Did you know that they give you a new toothbrush AND a sticker at the dentist? All you have to do is sit there and let them play with your teeth. I asked her for an extra toothbrush for both my brothers, and she gave me some. I am really, quite thoughtful.
Mommy has a baby in her belly. Baby Stephen is his name. I love talking to him and feeling him move around. If I could, I would sit and feel Mommy’s belly all day long, but she won’t let me. Something about her belly being “sensitive” or something. I have noticed that Mommy is more tired than normal, so I have been helping out extra around the house. When Levi escapes and goes somewhere he isn’t supposed to be, I go and grab his hand and gently walk him back to where he is supposed to stay. A few times, it has become a game that we play together. I love playing with my brothers, it is probably my most favorite thing to do.
Mommy has started doing lessons with me while she cooks dinner. I love that time when I sit at the counter and go through my lessons with her. I feel like such a big girl. Soon, I will be writing my letters and numbers. Lookout, world!
July was a great month, but I am really looking forward to August. You want to know why? That is when we finally get to meet Stephen! I can’t wait for another baby brother. (Although, I really wanted a sister).
Verses memorized in July:
James 1:19 – Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.
Colossians 3:20 – Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases God.
Chores I do:
Putting my dishes away
Folding towels and putting them away
Cleaning my bathroom
Putting my clothes away
Setting my spot at the table and cleaning up
Collecting the bathroom trash
