Gracie’s birthday was in July.
One fun thing about birthdays is that we get to celebrate with the birthday person! I got to have a cupcake and play with balloons, too. Of course, celebrating Gracie’s birthday just made me think about my birthday. A lot. I decided I want to spend my birthday at Costco again this year. We’ll see if I change my mind between now and November. Of course, before my birthday, Stephen has to have his birthday.
Speaking of Stephen, in July, I spent a lot of time kissing Stephens (via mommy’s belly) and telling him how pretty he was. I’m not sure why that made people laugh, but I like making people laugh, so I said it again and again.
One of my favorite words is mango. It is my go to word when I feel uncomfortable. If someone asks me how old I am, I say, “Mango!” If someone asks me my name, “Mango!” Matter of fact, a few weeks ago, mommy took me to big church with her. I haven’t really wanted to go to the little kid church, so I was excited to spend time with mommy. However, once the preacher got to talking, I got bored. Mommy promised me that if I was loud in the service, she would take me back to my own class. I decided to test and see if she really meant it. So when there was a long pause and everything was quiet, I shouted, “MANGO!” That ended up getting me what I wanted (as well as a consequence, but we won’t talk about that).
I have decided that I am a big boy. I wear big boy underwear, I do my own chores. This means that I really don’t need to listen to mommy and daddy much. When mommy asks me to do something, I love pretending like I don’t hear her. My second favorite trick is telling her I will do it when I am ready. For example; she might ask me to put something away. I like responding by saying, “First, I am going to do…” and find something else to do. It’s just part of my charm. Mommy doesn’t necessarily agree with me on that one.
Gracie is my very best friend, although Levi is starting to grow on me. Still, when I need a playmate, Gracie is always my first choice. One thing that is nice about Levi, though, is the fact that I can teach him all kinds of bad things. I was the one that taught him to scream when he wanted something. Now, I am working on teaching him to bang the table (high chair, for him) when he wants more food.
I guess you could say, I’m pretty mischievous. That is part of my charm, too! At the end of the day, however, I just really want to sit with mommy and snuggle. Or wrestle with daddy. I love it when he throws me on the couch!
One of my favorite times of the day is when Mommy and Daddy put me to bed. Daddy reads the Bible and Mommy sings my special song. My song is, “Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus.”
July was a great month, but I know that August will be even better. I think I am getting another brother in August!
